Ragin Cajun

I know James Carville rubs some people who supported President Obama the wrong way but I love the guy. And I tell you one thing, if we had more Democratic surrogates like him on all of the talking head shows, President Obama would be winning the spin war right now over the stimulus bill.

  1. I told people - namely diehard Obama supporters - to not take it personal when James Carville repped hard for Clinton during the primaries. He owes much of his career to her and Bill, and I appreciated that he was loyal and aggressive on their behalf. I figured that when the primary was over, he'd be a valuable ally. And I think he was.

I love that he's not a shrinking violet. Carville doesn't apologize for his beliefs and he goes hard against nonsense. Same as Begala. Like you say, Dems need more like him.

In many ways, I really think people took the primary battle too personally. Glad Obama won, but you know, it's not like Clinton was a bad candidate.

  2. I agree with you 100% The primary battle just won't die in some people's hearts. I still remember that on the very day that John McCain said one last time that"the fundamentals of our economy are strong" before there had been even one debate James Carville went on CNN and said the election was over and Obama would win unless he made some kind of huge mistake. That cat is awesome and I have yet to see someone get the best of him in an argument even when the facts aren't really on his side. I would sorta like to see him get his own TV show. If people think Olbermann is bad, Carville would give them fits!

  3. I'm with you on the Carville support -- and was delighted to read that he and Rahm Emmanuel (and Paul Begala and George Stephanopolous) still talk daily about all things politics. So the White House is still getting its dose of Carville, however sideways or small.
